How do I book a charter with Grand Bleu Fiji?
Booking your sailing adventure with Grand Bleu Fiji is simple! You can reach out to us via email at bookings@grandbleufiji.com with your preferred dates, group size, and desired activities. How far in advance should I book my charter?
To ensure you secure your ideal dates and preferred itinerary, we recommend booking your Grand Bleu Fiji charter at least 4-6 months in advance, particularly during our peak seasons (May to October and December). This helps us accommodate your requests and make the necessary arrangements for your trip.
What information do I need to provide when booking?
Booking your tailored Fijian getaway with Grand Bleu Fiji is a straightforward process. Here’s what we need to get started:
- Type of Charter: Indicate whether you’re interested in an overnight charter or a day cruise.
- Group Size: The total number of guests joining your adventure helps us personalise the experience. Please provide the number of people in your group.
- Duration (for Overnight Charters): Share your ideal departure date and the number of days you’d like to spend on the catamaran.
- Activity Preferences: Let us know your interests, such as snorkelling, fishing, diving, or island exploration, so we can create a bespoke itinerary for you.
Once we have these details, our booking team will get in touch to finalise your itinerary and ensure everything is tailored to your needs.
Can I change the dates after making a booking?
Yes, we understand that plans can change. You can modify your booking dates after confirmation, subject to availability. To facilitate a smooth change, please inform us at least 30 days before your scheduled departure. The sooner you let us know, the better chance we have to accommodate your new preferred dates. Our team will work with you to find a suitable alternative.
Can I book a private charter for a special event, such as an anniversary?
Absolutely! We can help you plan the perfect celebration on board Papillon for special occasions. Our team will work with you to create a customised experience that fits your vision, including a tailored menu, and unique activities to make your day unforgettable.

What types of charters do you offer?
We provide a range of charters to suit various preferences and interests:
- Overnight Charters: Multi-day sailing adventures with personalised itineraries exploring Fiji’s beautiful islands.
- Day Cruises: Ideal for those with limited time, offering a full day of exploration and relaxation on the water max 8 pax.
- Fishing Charters: Half-day or full-day fishing experiences for enthusiasts looking to catch a variety of species. As part of our overnight Yasawa Island charters only.
- Honeymoon Charters: Romantic and private getaways designed for couples celebrating special moments.
- Corporate and Special Event Charters: Customised charters for team-building events, birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions.
What is included in the charter price?
Your Grand Bleu Fiji charter includes the following:
- A professional and experienced captain, crew, and chef.
- All meals and snacks, freshly prepared on board.
- Beverages, including water, soft drinks, tea, coffee, beers, local spirits, and wines.
- Snorkelling gear and other water sports equipment.
- Marine park and port fees.
- Inflatable tender
- 23ft 60hp longboat for scuba diving charters only
- All local government taxes.
- Fishing equipment (as per itinerary).
- For day cruises, a BBQ lunch on board
What does the Luxury Drinks Package include, and how much does it cost?
The Luxury Drinks Package is an optional upgrade at US$50 per person, per day. It includes a selection of premium imported spirits, in addition to the standard beverages already available on board. If someone in your group prefers not to opt for this package, no problem – we can easily accommodate their preference without charging them. This way, everyone enjoys the experience exactly as they like.
Are children welcome on board, and are there activities tailored for them?
Yes, children are more than welcome on board Papillon! We offer a variety of child-friendly activities such as snorkelling in shallow waters or beach games to make their time on board exciting and enjoyable. Our crew is experienced in ensuring a safe and fun environment for all ages.
Payment & Pricing
What payment methods do you accept?
We currently accept wire transfers only. Details for making a payment will be provided during the booking process.
Are there any additional costs not included in the charter price?
Additional costs may include the Luxury Drinks Package (US$50 per person, per day), and optional experiences like the Half-Day Spa, which is payable directly to the spa. If you wish to dine ashore at Donu, a premier Japanese restaurant on the islands, the cost would be payable directly to the resort. Let us know if you’d like to include these options, and we’ll tailor your package accordingly.
Do you offer any special discounts or promotions during certain times of the year?
We occasionally run special offers and promotions. Keep an eye on our social media channels for updates on exclusive deals and discounts.
Is a deposit required to secure my booking, and what are the payment terms?
Yes, a deposit is required to secure your booking with Grand Bleu Fiji. Typically, we ask for a 30% deposit upon confirmation, with the remaining balance due 30 days before your departure. This helps us reserve your preferred dates and begin preparations for your customised charter experience.
Activities & Experiences
Are there any age restrictions for activities?
Most activities are suitable for guests of all ages, but we do have some guidelines for safety reasons:
- Snorkelling: Suitable for children aged 6 and above, provided they are comfortable in the water and supervised by an adult.
- Fishing: Open to all ages, but children should be supervised.
- Water Sports (Paddleboarding, Wake Skates, etc.): Recommended for children aged 8 and above, based on their swimming ability and comfort level.
Please note: our crew prioritises safety and will ensure all activities are appropriate for your group’s age and skill levels. Please inform us of any specific concerns, and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.
Do you provide equipment for snorkelling and fishing?
Yes, we provide all the necessary equipment for snorkelling and fishing. Our gear is of high quality and well-maintained to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience.
Are there significant weather differences between July and September that could impact activities?
Fiji enjoys a tropical climate year-round, with slight variations between months. July typically has cooler, drier weather, while September is warmer but still comfortable. Both months are excellent for sailing and surfing, with minimal impact on your activities.
Can we adjust the itinerary during the charter if the weather changes or a great surf opportunity arises?
Itineraries are subject to weather. The captain will endeavour to get to all of the anchorages mentioned or will find amazing alternatives.
Can we arrange a guided hike or cultural tour as part of our itinerary?
Yes, we can include guided hikes or cultural tours in your itinerary to enhance your Fijian experience. Explore lush rainforests, visit traditional villages, or learn about Fijian history and customs. These land-based activities offer a unique perspective of Fiji beyond the water.

Are meals and drinks included in the charter price?
Yes, all meals and beverages are included as part of your charter. Enjoy delicious dishes prepared by our chef, and a variety of drinks including water, soft drinks, tea, coffee, beers, local spirits, and wines.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Absolutely! We take dietary needs seriously. Our onboard chef ensures all meals are prepared to meet your specific requirements. Please inform us of any dietary restrictions or allergies when booking, and we will cater to them with care and attention.
Can we bring our own food and drinks on board?

Safety & Equipment
How is safety managed on board?
Your safety is our top priority at Grand Bleu Fiji. Our crew members are trained in first aid and emergency procedures, and we follow strict safety protocols to ensure a safe and enjoyable journey. The catamaran is equipped with life jackets, a comprehensive first aid kit, and all necessary safety gear.
Is there Wi-Fi available on the catamaran?
Yes, we provide Wi-Fi on board so you can stay connected during your voyage. Please note that signal strength may vary in remote areas, but any connectivity issues are usually temporary.
Cancellation and Refunds
What is your cancellation policy?
Charters are subject to weather conditions, tide, and mechanical safety, and are operated at the discretion of Grand Bleu Fiji. In the event of a weather-related cancellation, we will do our best to reschedule your charter. We recommend booking flexible flights and travel insurance for added peace of mind. While we do not offer refunds for cancellations, we can provide a letter for insurance claims.
Are refunds available if we cancel our charter?
The following are our T&Cs:
Payment: Within 7 days of booking, a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the full value of the booking is required to confirm the booking, notwithstanding that full payment is due 60 days prior to departure. Bookings are to be made direct to bookings@grandbleufiji.com.
Contract: On receipt of cleared payment of charter fare(s) or any part thereof by Grand Bleu (Fiji) Pte Limited, a binding contract shall be deemed to exist between the passenger(s) and Grand Bleu (Fiji) Pte Limited, subject to the terms and conditions herein.
Full payment is required 60 days prior to sailing date. The guest or their Agent must pay bookings made within 60 days of travel in full to Grand Bleu (Fiji) Pte Limited.
Amendment fees: An amendment fee of USD$50 will be charged per booking for any amendments made after the booking has been placed with Grand Bleu (Fiji) Pte Limited. However, if the amendment is a change of date only, with a similar value booking still being held, then Grand Bleu (Fiji) Pte Limited, at its discretion, will waive the cancellation fees if it has the ability to fill the vacated booking.
Cancellation fees: All cancellations must be in writing to Grand Bleu (Fiji) Pte Limited and Grand Bleu (Fiji) Pte Limited shall base the timing on the day of receipt of such notification.

What happens if we need to cancel due to a medical emergency or unforeseen circumstances?
In the event of a cancellation due to a medical emergency or unforeseen circumstances, we will do our best to reschedule your charter for a future date, subject to availability. While refunds are not provided, we will work with you to accommodate a new booking when possible. We highly recommend travel insurance to cover such situations.

What should we bring with us on the charter?
We’ve got most things covered on board! Your charter includes meals, snacks, beverages, linens, towels, and use of water sports equipment. We recommend bringing personal essentials such as swimwear, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and any special items you may need. Pack light and get ready for an unforgettable Fijian adventure!
Where do we board the catamaran?
Your journey begins at Wailoaloa Beach on the mainland of Viti Levu, Fiji’s largest island. We provide ground transfers to ensure a smooth start to your Grand Bleu Fiji experience.
What languages does the crew speak?
Our crew primarily speaks English and Fijian, and we are happy to share some local phrases with you during your stay. We strive for clear communication to ensure you have the best possible experience.
Are pets allowed on the catamaran?
While we love animals, pets are not allowed on board for safety reasons. The environment can be challenging for pets, and we want to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all guests.
Can we bring our own music or playlists to play on board?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own music or playlists! Our catamaran is equipped with portable speakers that allows you to connect your device and enjoy your favourite tunes during the journey, or on the beach. Whether you want to set a relaxing atmosphere or create a lively vibe, we’ve got you covered.
Do you offer any additional services, such as massages or yoga sessions on board?
Yes, we can arrange for additional wellness services like massages or yoga sessions at certain resorts on the islands to enhance your relaxation experience. Just let us know your preferences in advance, and we’ll organise everything to ensure your journey is as rejuvenating as it is adventurous.
